Remove outer leaves from Brussels sprouts and leave whole or cut in half and cook in boiling water until tender crisp. Drain (throw away the cooking water because it can be bitter). In pan sautee onions in butter and bacon grease. Dust with flour and stir until smooth. Add water to make thick sauce. Season to taste. Add a tablespoon whipping cream and pour everything over the Brussels sprouts.
Brussels sprouts is a winter vegetable and is best after a frost.

I am not a fan of brussel sprouts - sorry! But, are those from your garden?!?!
The brussel sprouts are not from our garden. Maybe we can plant them next year. Brussels are a winter vegetable and would work well for us.
I found a better recipe and wanted to delete this one but wasn't able to. Therefore, don't try this one. It's just not as good.
