Mexican Skillet Rice in a Jar

This is a Meal-In-a-Jar recipe, where you simply add water.

In a 1 pint mason Jar/Mylar bag, layer the following ingredients:
¼-1/3 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. dried minced onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. crushed dried red pepper
¼ tsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. ground cumin
1 ¾ tsp. chicken bouillon
1 tsp. tomato powder (optional)
1 C white rice
½  C freeze dried chopped chicken

Include these instructions:
In a large frying pan, combine contents of jar, 2 ¾ - 3 C water, and 1 can drained black beans (optional), and fresh chopped cilantro (optional).   Stir, and bring to a boil.  Cover, and simmer on low for about 30 min., or until rice is cooked.  Melt cheese over top.

Serves 6-8.
