Helpful Dry Pack Information

Here is some helpful information when cooking with dehydrated foods/powders, or creating "Just add water" recipes.

½ C butter powder + ½ C water = ½ C butter
1/3 C powdered milk + 1 C water = 1 C milk
1 Tbls. whole egg powder + 2 Tbls. water = 1 egg
1 Tbls. Vanilla sugar = 1-2 tsp. vanilla extract

½ tsp. vanilla powder = 1 tsp. vanilla extract

If sealed and stored properly, the shelf life of Meals-In-a-Jar is, conservatively, 5-7 years.  To seal, you can either, include an oxygen absorber packet, or vacuum seal, with a vacuum sealer and jar sealing accessory.  Store them in a cool dark place.
If you choose not to seal these meals, and use them as part of your daily pantry foods, the shelf life is 1 year.
