12 C (one box) corn chex cereal (or mixture of cereals)
1-2 C slices almonds (or nut of your choice - optional)
1 C corn syrup
1 C sugar
3/4 C butter
1 tsp. vanilla
In a large bowl, mix the cereal and nuts, and set aside. In a sauce pan, heat all other ingredients, and bring to a boil - mixing constantly. Once it begins to boil, lower temperature, while keeping a slow simmer. Continue stirring, while it simmers for 5 min. Remove from heat, and pour over the cereal, and mix to coat everything well. If you want to mix chocolate chips in (1 C), this would be a good time. Pour out onto wax paper to cool.
This is a very simple treat, but I warn you, it is very addicting!
