Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 Cups powdered sugar

1 3/4 Cup butter, softened

1 tsp. vanilla

1 egg

2 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cream of tartar

frosting (Cream Cheese frosting is what I prefer, plus it's easy to change the color of it with a little food coloring.)

Beat the sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg until it is creamy and smooth. Mix in the remaining ingredients, and chill in the fridge (covered) for at least 2 hours.

Roll out about quarter of the chilled dough on a floured surface. The dough should be about 1/4" thick. Use cookie cutters to cut desired shapes, and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.

Let cool completely, and decorate as desired.
